It’s important that you can write about Nora’s changing relationship to society as she develops. Nora says she must ‘try to satisfy myself which is right,   or I’ (Act 3, p. 101).

Ask yourself: How and why has Nora reached this decision?

Possible answer: Helmer’s failure to provide a heroic ‘miracle’ leads her to reject his authority, and hence that of the male hegemony of church and law.
