Read the question. Then identify key words to determine exactly what is being asked.
Spend about 5 minutes planning your response. Brainstorm ideas and list key quotations and incidents.
Keep an eye on the time. Make sure that you pace yourself so that you structure your response properly and cover all your points.
Give yourself enough time to check your essay. Make sure that your points and handwriting are clear.
Remember not to panic. Just pretend that you are doing a timed essay, and make sure that you have all the equipment that you need.
