Comment

The answer is a comprehensive exploration of the different kinds of relationships between men and women, and a justification of the choices. Quotations are used appropriately and there is a good understanding of the literary techniques mentioned. There are smooth links between paragraphs. However, more sophisticated vocabulary is needed. The critical style is confident but needs further development to ensure greater fluency.

For Grades 8–9

  • Sharpen critical style and sustain it across the whole answer.
  • Develop further detailed analysis of the text, key phrases and techniques.
  • Use sophisticated vocabulary consistently.
