Comment

The answer tends to tell the story sometimes, but shows a good grasp of the relationship between Lanyon and Jekyll/Hyde, both here and in the wider novella. The response is reasonably well structured, though wording is sometimes a little informal. Some useful references to context, if occasionally undeveloped.

For Grade 7

  • Give more detailed analysis of language and its effects.
  • Relate the treatment of science more precisely to the contemporary context.
  • Show the effect of what happens rather than just telling it.
  • Structure the argument more logically.
