Allocate a set amount of time to each question – write down the times when you will move to the next question, and stick to it!

Read questions and identify instructions (such as how, explain, analyse) and then the subject (Francis, loneliness, guilt). Write down key points from your revision.

This isn’t a waste of time – it indicates the direction your answer is taking, helps you put ideas in order and makes paragraphing easy.

Read your answer as you progress to ensure that your work stays focused. If you expect an examiner to read it carefully, then you should as well!
