Comment

This is a clear response that makes some good points. They tend to be rather undeveloped and there is not much focus on the methods the writer uses. There is a tendency towards re-telling the story rather than focusing on the task. Some evidence is used well although one quotation in particular is unnecessarily long.

For Grade 6

  • More focus on language and techniques
  • More detail on how Brontë presents Rochester in this extract and elsewhere in the novel
  • More precise use of embedded evidence
