This response provides an insightful account of the way Jane seeks and finds happiness and fulfilment, drawing on the extract and on other well-chosen episodes. Points are supported by textual evidence and there is some analysis of language chosen and techniques used, and of their effects. Some references to contextual factors are made. Subject specific terminology is used appropriately.
For Grades 8–9
- Further develop the discussion in relation to key themes.
