Comment

This response shows some understanding of Capulet and his attitudes to young people. Quotations are used to support ideas but these are not always integrated within the essay. There is some personal response and some evidence that the student has understood the question. The writing style is informal and clumsy in places and more clarity is needed. The one reference made to context is almost lost due to this weakness of expression.

For Grade 4

  • Improve the written expression so that it is fluent and employs more formal language.
  • Select more precise quotations to directly support the argument.
  • Link points back to the question throughout the response.
