Comment

This is a well-argued response, with a good focus on the task, a helpful structure and a secure knowledge and understanding of the play. There is some analysis of words and phrases, though a lack of technical vocabulary means this could be developed. There is a sensible attempt to deal with context. Expression is good and very clear, and there is a very useful selection of supporting quotations, though in places shorter references and embedding quotations in a more sophisticated way would add to the quality of the support.

For Grade 7

  • Increase the maturity of expression by using a wider vocabulary and a more formal critical style, embedding quotations
  • Blend contextual points in the argument more seamlessly
  • Use textual references as well as quotations to create a more thorough and perceptive analysis
  • Add to the analysis of language with more frequent use of terminology
